I have a Asus g51vx and it tends to overheat alot I'm guessing it is because of the processor so Im thinking about upgrading to either a Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor Q9000 or Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T9600 was wondering if any experts could help me out. i've been trying to solve this overheating issue

If you haven't opened it up to clean out the vents and fans you should do that first. If not done regularly a lot of dust can build up on them causing overheating issues.
