Hi, I'm new to the forum
I read several threads here already, without achieving a solution for my problem

I had a big problem yesterday
I tried to update my bios via G51J EasyFlash own built-in bios
    performed the procedure normally
and the machine turned off ...
as most did not care, I decided to start the power button

then the machine turns, cdrom works, fans care, hd linked, but the screen is black
    without command lines with nothing

curious that after identifying the HD light on and off, hold the power button for 5 seconds does not turn off the machine more

    and nothing else works

reading various threads I am trying to redo the bios via usb flash stick
or via dvd / cd rom

    unsuccessfully

does anyone know or would help the solution?

thank you in advance for your help and attention

Contact a company specializing in notebook here in my town
They said it is possible by recording via EPROM

wanted to know if this solution exists only
I thought a bit expensive that the value will be charged for the service

    thanks

If you have the opportunity to send it for repair to asus, that is best.

Can you plug in an external monitor (VGA not HDMI)? Does that show up?

Asus Brazil no guarantees my Notebook
now I'm waiting reply from asus canada

    But i`m in Brazil...
dont want to send out of the country

yesterday i try to do what you said
in RBG conector I turned on my monitor LG 23''
    But Black Screen too

from what I read it might be possible to reset the bios by unplugging a cable that feeds the battery ... any ideas?

sorry for google translate english hehe

Just a little factoid about Asus Repair facilities: Asus International offers the Global Warranty, but each regional facility is an independent contractor. This is where the nonsense about "who repairs what where" comes into play.

You either need to RMA your laptop to ASUS if it's under warranty, or find someone with an eeprom programmer. The only problem is part of your BIOS image that contains your SLIC table (containing your windows license) etc may get erased, and that part you can't program from an image - I'm not an expert with eeprom so I can't tell you if you can flash just the corrupted portion back from the BIOS image from the website. If you're under warranty you should set up an RMA with asus support.

Yep, this is under warranty (i have it since 16 september 2010) 24mouth warranty...

Today I pulled out the notebook of technical assistance without success
but the technical told me that my bios is DualBios.
this was one reason he has not succeeded in recording EEPROM
becouse yours general EEPROM recording not support DualBIOS

it gave me hope for something similar to Asus CrashFree Bios or something.
That would be the use of secondary bios to fix the problem
    any idea?

two hours ago i sent an email to asus RMA wondering is there any way to try to operate here.

    because it starts
    can read the DVD drive
flashing lights of stick when connected to USB port
But Black Screen (I do not know if it is not only the VGA that has no signal)
    and wont boot

in the e-mail i say if you do not have a way
it would be possible via FedEX for Asus USA Brazil->USA and USA->Brazil
Being that I would pay the costs
    I expect the answer

but I'd like to fix here, I see in many threads people with success stories. I would be one more.

thanks for all help, keep helping me

It's a long shot, but you can try the method here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/asu...flash-screen-will-not-come-2.html#post4473134

Crack open the ISO, and then open the bootable .img file (you can rename it .iso to easily view its contents), then replace the .ROM image with your G51 BIOS image. Edit update.bat to reflect the filename of the G51 ROM. Then repack the img and the ISO and burn to CD. I guess you could also take all of this stuff and put it on a bootable DOS USB memory stick.

I have no idea if this will work for your system, though.

I understand your idea it is good!

but how do I open the iso? tried with UltraISO and WinRAR.
    But it opens empty ...
    no other specific software?

Another thing, I have the original file called BIOS.BIN (2,048 kb) found in the folder called "root" on original CD recovery of notebook

    and i downloaded G60JXAS.208 (2.048kb too) asus's website (yes it's the same motherboard G60jx)

but neither is a file. ".ROM" ...
    I have to rename?
    any idea?

sorry if i'm too noobie for any things...

    thanks for your help

Just rename the extension of the .208 file to .ROM.

I think the .ISO contains a hidden directory named [BOOT]

I'm on linux, so I can't tell you what to use on windows, sorry. :(

So... I recorded it .iso by nero on a CD-RW and even then after recording, I do not see anything on the CD ... there was any way to I see?

just so you could see the files to replace them...

    thanks again

would be too much to ask for you to do this replacement procedure for me?

and sending new iso in email for me...

    possible it is?

So, now i put the notebook HD in my Desktop...

then I saw that updated the bios file with G60JAS.208
    and not G60JXAS.208 (see X)
this must have been the problem ...

HD partition that has a security call
    "System Reserved"
is it not possible to fix something here?

    G60JAS.208 (and G60J207.T10, G60JAS.202) - is for the g51j-a1
If yours is the g51jx .. then you screwed yourself sorry to say that.
Need to reprogram the bios by asus or some repair guys who can manually eproms.
No clue if it's still possible to load the bios image from disk.

    User CCz_Cataphract says

I think it might work with core I3 or core I5 correct?
because my model use core i7

    will it work?
