Hello I've recently bought a used G51VX in almost perfect condition with also about 6 months of the warranty left for $675. I found this as a good deal because it allowed me to save a ton of cash and to experiment with this laptop.

But because it's used, there's signs of wear which I want to clean. How would I go on about opening and cleaning the laptop? I have never done anything like this before so a tutorial would be nice! And once open, is it OKAY to use a vacuum to suck out the dust? Also, I figured out there are a ton of bloatware programs on this laptop, does anyone have a guide on removing them?

Also, it came with nothing but the adapter and warranty information; no CD's. Is this a problem? Can I just do a full recovery without them?

I plan to upgrade other items as well such as first buying a 9 cell battery, the ram, solid state drive, and others. And is it possible to upgrade to Windows 7, what would be the difference?

I must say this laptop looks very intimidating with the RoG logo and the surrounding lights on the outer shell.

THANKS, looking forward to your replies!

There is a tutorial! Forge (the user here) has a tonne of experience with the g51 models. I don't know where, exactly, but there are several tutorials available. Otherwise, It's an AWESOME laptop. Only use a vacuum cleaner if you want to destroy your laptop - the ESD from the vaccum will probably ruin something.

Don't bother with a bigger battery. it's a gaming laptop, and a desktop replacement. It's like hypermiling with a 60s muscle car.
