Hi all, this is my first post, so forgive me if I give incomplete information.

I really need some help on this one.
    I have an Asus G53 laptop, i740QM proc with nVidia 460m graphics 1.5GB running Win7 64 bit.

After installing windows updates on 6/29/2011 my graphics card went crazy.

    Description:
Usually when Win starts it loads for about 3 seconds and you can see the GC kicking in some settings and the colors look warmer. This is not happening after the update. Windows Areo doesn't load. I ran Starcraft 2. The settings were all crapy, lowest settings and no longer 1920x1080 resolution, it was 1280xsmth.
I run another Win update which installed Win 7 SP1. That didn't help. I got the latest driver from the nVidia site. It got installed. I rebooted, nothing has changed. I run the Win 7 performance rating. The 2 GC indicators went down from 7.1 to 6.6.

Unfortunately, I can't roll back to a point before this update. I can go before the SP1 update but that's it.

Should I manually uninstall the updates? They just looked like security updates, so it doesn't make any sense.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks. No I have not tried that. I did not notice the original asus driver being deleted after Win 7 update, so I figured maybe it just needs a newer version. Sometimes drivers from nVidia site don't work and they recommend downloading from the manufacturers site, but this driver "worked" - I mean got installed.

I'll get the driver from Asus. Worth a try.

    Edit:
    It did not work :-/

Well, last time I had a customer with this kind of problem, my service manager suggested uninstalling all NVIDIA entries from the "Uninstall a program" list, then reboot and try the driver install in safe mode. Worth a shot!
