I just got my G53J, and right out the box the blue colors look way more like purple than blue. I tried adjusting this in the color management but I couldnt even find the contrast buttons.

Anyone know how I could fix this issue or tinker with color settings?

    THanks!

There is something called "Asus Splendid" on my W3J, that could change color tones, etc. I am not sure if the same software is on your laptop too, though.
You can also try booting a live CD with Linux and see if the colors are better there too. (For my laptop, it took a bit of time before "Splendid" actually kicked in, do you notice any color tone change after you log in?

Splendid is a good suggestion, you can also use control panel - display - calibrate color; if you are running win 7.
Also depending on your video card, color can also be adjusted from CCC for an ATI display or NVidia Control Panel for NVidia Cards

I had used the calibrate color but for some reason I couldnt find the contrast button so it wasnt much use. Though I was able to do it through the NVidia Control Panel.
The Splendid also helped, it was set on a profile setting that i dont remember choosing so I changed it.

For some reason the blue still looks a bit purple, but ill try to mess with the hue/contrast settings to get it to work correctly.

    THanks!

I really suggest the live CD idea, because it allows a "clean" environment of any visual tweaks.
You can also try the Windows installation CD and quit it. There is some blue there if I remember correctly.
