    Hello all,

I am a new proud owner of asus g53jw-a1, amazon.com version.

I'm impressed with all the features this laptop has, but I haven't been able to successfully get hdmi signal to work with my TV.

When I plug in the HDMI cable to the port, I can see the resolution on the laptop screen match to the native of the TV, but the TV stays black (i.e. no output), and the audio does not work either, even though the sound mixer shows that there are audio signal coming out from the NVIDIA HDMI audio speakers.

I have updated to the latest nvidia video drivers (260.99), and realtek audio to 2.55, but no luck yet.

Any ideas how to proceed next?

    Thanks in advance.

If you have a different HDMI cable, try that. It's the easiest thing to blame.

Thanks for your reply, i've tried 6 HDMI slots, 2 tvs, 2 HDMI cables
When I plug it into the N53, it doesn't work, but when i plug it into the Dell it works immediately!!

i'm starting to hate my asus .

Sorry to bring a old thread back to life, however I had the same issue. I found that setting the laptop to GAME mode not high performance HDMI works... Dumb having to do it that way. But that fixed my issue. Hope it helps
