    Hi! I been looking for a laptop for a couple of months...

    I was setled on the Power Pro r11:36, it has great specs for the price, but i have the problem of shipping time, the laptop is delivered to a friend in a travel in usa, to a hotel, and he was staying for 15 days, but now, he is staying for 5 days at most, maybe 7 perhaps... so, the power pro is no longer an option as it would take a few days to arrive and i cant pay for the fatest shipping, just to expensive for me now....

    Looking around for a good value laptop, i found this one ASUS G53SW-XA2 the laptop cost 999 it has the same specs as any g53sw except for the procesor, it has an i5 2410m... i would really like to get the A1, but is too expensive for me...
    I m looking at amazon cause i can get a fast shipping and send the laptop in just a day or so...

    What do you think of this one?? i know it does not has the i7 but... is toooooo much better to have the i7??? will this laptop be realiable??? i saw a LOT of bad reviews on the xa1, but not to much on the a1, will this be a nice buy?

    My main concern is that the laptop CANT be replaced... the people that travel dont speak too good the english and well, the warranty on asus dont seems to work here in my country, Uruguay....

    looks fine to me.

    there could be a game or 2, that will suffer on the i5, though its still a pretty fast cpu, and you can always replace it later on with a i7.

    if you a laptop now for that price would be best to go for that one.

    It should be reliable? It's seems not to be like the ones of best buy is it? I mean, the gpu is not cut down on specs?

    some guys do have the power button issue, have to just see if it happens to you also, maybe your lucky :)

    yep the gpu is the full 192bit/1.5gig ram, and you also have the full hd screen, where the best buy version does not have

    its fully recomendable this machine, over a macbook pro 13 and over the new lenovo y570?? the lenovo has a gt555m but it seems only 128 bits i guess and 1gb

    yes this machine is better then both of them

    gpu is 192 cuda cores vs 144 of the gt555m and more vram etc.

    if i had the money i would bought one also at that price :(

    Well, don't worry, you have a great laptop as i can see, i dont have any :( and i need one for a lot of years :D hope this baby works fine for a long time...

    I changed the cores in the 555m, it has just 96 :(

    hmm 96 is the same amount the gt540m have, then it is really junk :p

    so ya g53 all the way!!

    Well at least the one in the lenovo is in that way... Do you know how is the keyboard of this G53 laptop? Did you ever see one? do you like how it looks??

    i have used a g73 which is about the same, and g51 is also about the same, i really love the feel of it.(think they are the same keyboard)

    its soft and just feels nice, and the backlit is awesome for gaming at nights :p
