    Hi.

Apologies, but despite it appearing that the G53SX -does- support WiDi from a components perspective, I can't find a clear statement on whether or not Asus chose to enable the tech.

    So, two questions, please

    - First, does the G53SX-A1 have WiDi enabled?

    - Second, if it does not, is it possible to do this as an end user, or, does it have to be enabled by Asus (via BIOS or other means)?

    Thanks for any/all help!

I do not believe the unit comes configured with enabled WiDi.

Unfortunately, there is not a way (that I know of) to enable that feature since it doesn't come configured as such. In my experience, the WiDi feature has been pretty unreliable at best. I usually recommend something like the ASUS WiCast as that has a much better track record and a much better transfer rate for a higher quality experience. It may not be internal, but it seems to be working a lot more efficiently.

    Hey, really appreciate the replies!

Question would have still applied, but I zig zagged and went with a G73SW-XT1 that TigerDirect had on sale for $1099 (which should hold me for a year or two) after learning that the G53SX-A1 has only a 128bit 560M in it (weak sauce).

Will check out the ASUS screencast product you mentioned; thanks for the tip!
