I just got a used G55, but the DVD drive is not working, I did already the basic fixes. I try to upgrade the driver, I install and unistall the driver, but the drive is not reading the media. The drive from an Alienware fit on the asus with out any modification?
    Regards

If the drive from Alienware is slot-loading then the bezel from G55VW will not fit, however, you can still remove the brackets in the back of G55's DVD drive and put on the Alienware's drive.
