This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    My Asus G60JX has served me well since July 2012. It is now overheating and shutting down after 5-10 minutes of browsing Facebook or similar. It overheats quicker if a video is playing and less quick if I'm just emailing or using Word.

    Is there a simple fix for this, or is it time for a new laptop?
