    hey everyone,

I just recently received my refurbished g60vx from tigerdirect and so far it's been pretty bad to me. When i try to play both metro 2033 and dead island my gpu will reach about 95 degrees after 15 mins of playing and then it will just shut down. Now i've gone to the asus website and downloaded the new bios update for the gpu and cpu and the heat problem still occurs. (the games seem pretty slow to me as well, even for a gtx 260m im only on medium settings and its still laggy)

I also was getting a "nfts checking disk" error message whenever i started the laptop up, but now its gone for the time being.

Also, the battery/charger seem to be messed up, because sometimes the battery wont work at all and then other times i will keep getting a message over and over again saying its on ac power, then battery, then ac power, then battery x1000.... The charger also got EXTREMELY hot after using the laptop for 2 hours.. it was nearly too hot to hold.

This thing has not impressed me since i got it, i never had a problem with my other asus laptop.. why is this laptop so bugged out? Is it just a bad lemon and should i just send it back to tigerdirect??

anyone please?? I'm totally clueless on how to fix this thing :(

Check the fan, make sure it's pushing air and doesn't make weird ticking or grinding noises.

Did you just buy this G60VX? Can you still return it?

Refurbs have a 90 day warranty, plus whatever the return policy is of the retailer. I would contact Tiger and have them swap out for another unit.
