I had popped the taps at the top in to remove the keyboard but now the tabs in the top right and top left of the frame are not popping back out which results in the keyboard not being secured down. It makes annoying rattling sounds when I typed with it as a result.

If I start taking apart the computer is there going to be a place where I can go to manually pop the tabs back out and how much of the laptop am I going to have to take apart to reach them? Or, if there no reason that the tabs shouldn't be popping back out unless they are broken?

Killer someone is still using a G71 :)

Without seeing it would be pretty impossible to diagnose as my G71 went long ago and I didn't disassemble but you could always cheat. Apply a healthy amount of double sided STRONG sticky tape to the bottom of the keyboard and then reseat it so that it sticks firm to it. Asus did this with the G73JH and it was a bloody knightmare, so make sure once you do it you dont want to get back in ;)
