So I've had my laptop for 2 years now. I've never dropped it or anything. This morning while my laptop was in hibernation mode I unplugged the ac adapter from the computer side first and now it won't turn on. When i try to turn it on nothing happens. On the LED part only the one with the lightning is on when the adapter or battery are in but it won't turn on, no fans no hard drive nothing.

I was told it could either be a motherboard or power inverter, how do i tell which one it is and whats it gonna cost me? Any help is much appreciated.

The backlight inverter would be the likely culprit if your screen didn't power on but the machine booted normally and worked on an external monitor.

First I would take one stick of RAM out at a time, maybe one has gone bad.
