I doubt this can be considered moaning.
This thread illustrates how many straight out of the box ASUS G73s have the Fn+Esc freeze issue.
I would think the advent of the 209 unofficial BIOS does not render this thread moot but rather offers the solution to this thread and should be added to the first post of this thread in bold red caps.![]()
Therefore everything is kept informative and organized. Yowza.

I'm not moaning or making a big deal out of it. [cough] I'm simply saying that at the time, when there was no unofficial 209 BIOS, the poll was made for the sole purpose of finding out if the Fn+ESC issue was widespread. Any response to the poll should be made in that context. The unofficial 209 BIOS is an after thought and does not change the purpose of the poll. Besides, at this time no one is getting BIOS 209 as the default BIOS version, so in that sense, the poll remains relevant even to this day.
It's not moot for someone who recently purchased a G73JH and yes, if they wish to address the issue that is something they can consider. However, that doesn't alter the purpose of the poll in the least.
Maybe if Khalednet85 hadn't hijacked the thread it would have remained buried. Now there's your mootness.
-
It's just frustrating that this is one issue that's fixed, and it still comes up with people fussing about it. I understand there are a lot of unhappy G73 owners- I don't happen to be one of them, and it gets a little old when people are complaining about something that's fixed. Wouldn't mind locking the thread, as there are 100,000 other ones for G73 owners to complain in.
-
Mine doesn't lock-up. Almost disappointing!
Fixed in BIOS v209 maybe? -

You are the ONLY one here fussin about it.
The poll is clear and simple. Has there been a change in recent events that address this issue? Yes.
Is the 209 Bios an official fix from Asus?
No.
Even though there is an unofficial fix for this issue it still doesn't change the fact that out of the box it still exists in every G73JH unit.
You were already schooled once so I'll do it again home boy.
I doubt this will help you calm down. Here goes any way....The purpose of this thread was to see how many Out of the box units were affected by FN+Esc freeze issue. Nothing more nothing less.
Please stop trolling & have a nice day

LOL, usually I just ignore posts like these but I'll go ahead and reply, "home boy". I'm far from trolling- in fact, I'm tired of everyone having fits about something that's easily fixed. Feel free to go through my posts and see how primarily I'm answering questions- not trolling. People (yourself being a prime candidate) just continually complain about the same things over and over again, meanwhile dismissing those who don't have the problem as trolls or fanboys. Your post is a prime example of this.
I'm nowhere near upset, just tired and annoyed of the same go-round. I'm sure you'll still complain about it, so knock yourself out.Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -

Way to go on ignoring posts like this! Why would anyone want to go through you previous posts? lol! Go back to the basement where you belong.
I'm sure you'll respond to this one too because you eat sleep and breath G73JH.
By the way I just oredered my M17X with 5870M's in crossfire. Here's my config. I already have a Blu-ray writer for my G73JH and 8GB's of DDR3 1333 that I'll switch over to my M17X.
What's also nice is that my employer gave me an unexpected bonus of 3247.00USD. So I consider this new lappy free.
I'll still keep my G73JH for travel

Yeah, you really showed him. Now make some more yo'mama jokes, and don't forget to insult his choice of sneakers. I'm sure it'll impress all your "lady" friends.

skygunner27 A Genuine Child of Zion
it might
Hmmmm....you got any good "yo'mama jokes"......... -
What the hell is wrong with you? Get out of here, troll. Stop intentionally trying to (filtered word) people off, it's just plain annoying.
That is all. -
skygunner27 A Genuine Child of Zion
Almost as annoying as your post huh?
Loser.
Where were you, these posts are old and forgotten.
Check this link out.
Urban Dictionary: loser -
Hehe, Urban Dictionary is fun isn't it. I think I found something that pretty much sums up your existence.
Hint: #2 is probably the most "to the point". -
what does FN+esc do?
edit: after updating to 209 I can confirm that fn+esc no longer freezes, it does nothing now. -
Doesn't appear to do anything now that 209 is out.

It is fun. Just think about how much money the government spends on providing you with mental health assestments. I just did it for free in 30 seconds.
Hows that for health care reform? -
Why don't both of you just agree to disagree and move on. I'd hate to see either of you get a BLOD (Banned Letters of Death).
-
that's what I said, you even quoted it, can't you read lol?
-
Yes, but you asked what does Fn-Esc do? Even though you answered yourself in the next sentence I assumed you wanted confirmation of the nothingness.
Nothingness confirmed!
Cheers, -
why did it freeze than? they must wanted to program it for something originally. or took the bios of of something else and modded it a little
-
The world may never know... though "random bug" comes to mind.
Cheers, -
You broke it! Good one...
-
Since it's fixed, can we close this thread?
-
I think I've seen the mods say just report the thread and say why it should be closed. This one has definitely outlived it's usefulness.
Cheers, -
That didn't happen right when the original post was posted? -
At the count of 3, everyone stop posting to it. Ready? 1... 2... 3....
-
why are you the one doing the counting?

If you are really that sad that you can't provide a good argument, and that you repeatedly, again and again, have to resort to trolling to "get your lolz", I truly feel sorry for you my friend. There is no other way to say it. The fact you don't have the mental capacity to keep civility in the air is quite saddening, and makes me wonder why someone of your "intellect" (or lack of it) is even here on the internet. I would have thought that you would prefer to "chill with your homies and smoke the plant", and not care for things of higher intelligence.
But hey, you showed me, didn't you. You showed me that someone with the IQ of a blackboard has the capability to turn on their computer, find the "internetz", and troll without cause. (In the case that you don't know who I'm referring to, lest your gray matter not being able to piece it together, it is you).
Amazing.
The mods tend not to care that much about stuff like this. If we were to get banned, that's just life, I guess. -
guys srsly, what's wron?g

You are an i***t. Grow up and let this thread die. If you feel petty enough to continue this, PM instead of posting here.
Good Day
