On the back of the laptop there is an area that says ANT. Is this for an external wifi antenna? How much better is the signal with the intel card? I work offshore and we get wifi off another vessel we work with but the signal is awful since everything out here is steel. Im just looking for better solutions because right now I have to be in the right area to get any signal.

From what I have read, it does absolutely nothing. It's there for the models overseas that may use it. There is no hardware connected to it. If you want to upgrade the wifi, I would recommend a Intel 6200 card. Works great in the G73. It's a 2 wire card, so it matches up fine.
