So it seems as if there is a creative driver pack release on the 3rd of this month, you think these are safe to use? Anyone got these?
-
Someone mentioned their the same version as the one on our driver disc.
-
hmm ok. I tried to install anyway to test, but it couldnt detect a supported product on my system. Very weird.
-
So can anyone confirm if its the same version as on the driver disc?
-
I couldnt get them installed. It was saying it couldn't recognize anything on my system. Or something like that. Would be good to know though...
-
The reason it states it can' find any support hardware is because everyone is running the Realtek OEM drivers. It is looking for the Asus signed drivers before it will install.
I will be reinstalling the stock Asus supplied audio drivers and then install this package and report what I find.. -
also got could not detect a supported product on my system
I also also runnig stock Realtek drivers ^ -
I've installed the Audigy MB package on top of Realtek OEM drivers. (I remember doing that with 2.47) The issue seems to creep in with 2.50, or maybe 2.49. Not exactly sure.
-
why the hell does asus have to make so many problems with their drivers jesus
-
FYI -
I have a new G73, 4 days old (to me) that is a relatively clean (unmodified) factory image. Not a Win7 Clean install.. The first and only update that I've completed is the Creative/Audigy Driver mentioned in this post.
I had no problems with the installation...
In defense of ASUS - I think it is unfair to expect them to test every new driver in every possible user senario - The resources to do so would be immense and would drive up the cost of the product, and/or negate the motivation to release driver updates.
Being a Hardware/Software test engineer for a larger notebook manufacturer I can tell you that even we don't do this kind of testing. All update test cases are done on a "factory" image for verification and validation. We and I assume ASUS probably don't consider the possibility (likelyhood) that the end user has severly modified and or wiped the product of the factory image.
Just my own opinion from a view of the backroom...
In Christ, -
People who own gamer laptops are more likely to modify the stock install with updated drivers and fresh installs. It goes with the nature of both the function of the laptop, and the mindset of the gamer. (MUST HAVE MORE FPS!!)
-
zzzzzzzzzzzzzz's "NEED MORE FPS" zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's "NEED MORE FPS"
-
I rest my case.
-
So anyone have any luck with this package yet?
-
nah, i got the "could not find supported device dialog
weird thing, when i plug in headphones i still get output from the subwoofer. anyone know a fix? -
Well I installed the asus creative drivers again then installed these ones over the top. Everythings working. What was the cause of uninstalling these drivers in the first place? What can I test to see if they are fooked or not?
-
ahaha i fixed all the audio problems, i basically uninstalled everything from the device manager related to audio then immediately installed the latest realtech 2.51 and 2.49 hdmi
the creative didnt want to install so im not even gonna try it since everything is working again and the subwoofer shuts off when i plug in headphones.
goddamn these computers can be a pain to maintain -
Actually, the Creative install from the install CD Asus provided installs, these, from the Asus support download, do not.
They seem to be the same revision as the install CD, but something is obviously not being detected.
I went back to the original Asus Realtek drivers, then tried installing from the archive, no luck. Inserted the install CD, ran the install, installed just fine.
How hard is it for the techs at Asus to just copy the damn files off a CD???
I cannot believe it is this difficult to not only revision your software, but to get the original files onto your support site.
Someone is not doing thier job. Which pisses me off as a customer because I paid a hefty price for my Asus products and I expect proper support. -
Hello everybody,
I'm a newbie on this forum, i'm from Belgium and I usualy speak french so sorry for my english but I just would like to know why you're all trying to install Creative drivers on a PC with NO Creative hardware inside ???
I know, they are Creative drivers installed from factory but I've had a lot of troubles and crashes till I uninstall those Creative drivers. I don't have any sort of problem anymore since this uninstall.
Can you explain me the reasons to keep going trying Creative software on a G73 ??
Goodnight.

also, what part of the audio is that EAX advanced HD 4.0 sticker thing referring to?
-
Don't know if this applies here, but in the past when I've had issues installing the Creative software on some other Asus machines I've had (G60, G72) it always worked if I installed the Realtek drivers through the "Have Disk" method. Then the Creative software would install everytime.
-
-
aw so its nothing about the hdwr, screw the creative package then, one less possible problem for the comp.
the realteck 2.51 and 2.49 hdmi work perfectly and i intend to keep it that way.
until the next update comes out -
I don't use the Creative software and don't miss it.
-
My NWN2 program would miss the EAX support
-
I know I originally had Sacred 2:Fallen Angel working with EAX, then did a complete factory image restore to troubleshoot an ethernet problem and then it all of a sudden would crash unless I told it to -skipopenal.
If manually adding the app via ALchemy will work I will give it a shot. -
yep, you need to utilize ALchemy
-
