Cool font! Looks very familiar, like from either Tony hawk or Guitar Hero or something from Activision. +1rep
-
I might do it someday...\
Here have some rep.. +1 -
The font which I used inside this vid. is "Hollywood Hills". You can try it out.
Oh yea, my advice is try to pick slightly lighter blue colored film as mine appeared as a little bit purple.
The colored film I used is dark blue.

Hrm... Anyway to post photos; no vid polocy on the webs at work. Also, I tried to email my self putty and it wouldnt let me use it from my emails :[

Thanks!
I have to thank you for showing us in the 1st place. Viva Ken Lee . . .

Thank you so much for posting the video. I'd been trying to find info on making the keyboard backlight red and decreasing the brightness in order to preserve night vision. I put a piece of Rubylith (deep red) acetate in there and now it's great.
I've been covering the blue LEDs with duct tape... now to see if I can turn those red.

May I know which forum?
The G700 is indeed quite heavy but I really love that it is ergonomic and comfortable to hold on for long hours before lifting it so much.
You can share with us. No prob.
The astronomy thing was so new to me . . . but sounds interesting . . .

Hello Everyone!
Can anybody help me find some of this color film? I would like to get it off ebay, but I cannot seem to find it for the life of me. am in Canada, so they need to be shipping here.
I am looking for blue and green, if anyone can help. Thanks! -
Nice mod mate
-
Thanks!
You can try it yourself too.
-
Anybody know where I can order this color film online? Anyone?
-
Jeffery can you post a link to the ebay paper you got? just want to be safe lol
-
Yes please post this!!!
-
Very nice video Jeffery, I plan on doing this to my G73 once I find some coloured film. I plan on making my keyboard blue, my W A and D keys the standard white and all the numbers a nice green or red. I +repped you even though I have seen the pictured tutorial before, but you did a very nice video and explained the process very nicely. Btw I will also post the results once I am finished.
Thanks
Dino -
Sorry guys for the late reply and thanks so much for all the nice words and +rep from you guys too.
I got mine from eBay.de

damn, the above link does no ship to Canada.....
-
You might want to use a thinner foil, since as you can see from jeffrey, he still has some white light bleed on the bottom and top - you need to make sure your foil is all around completely - it has to stick out of the keyboard in some places (its not visible once the keyboard is in the laptop) and its hard to do that with a thick foil, so you might want to consider that. I needed a few tries myself to cut out a piece that fully filled all the edges and at the same time didnt stick out anywhere.
-
Yea. I have some white light bleeding out the keyboard. Have to adjust it several times to satisfy my needs.
-
Has anyone been able to locate a different source for the heat resistant colored film? The link given on the thread unfortunately only ships to Europe and im in the US. Thanks.
-
Jeff, Whenever I read some of your reviews and posts, I hear your voice in my head! It's like your reading it for me. LOL. Thanks for all the reviews and insights dude!

Hi guys!
I think this sheet will work on asus. The link is: Lee Filters Lighting Gel Sheet 075 Evening Blue | eBay -
Nice work Jeffrey.
I did this also on my N71JQ some months ago.
I was also motivated after seeing Ken's video.
At that time I added Ken's instructions to my N71JQ backlight keyboard implementation guide:

Jeffrey1987, just wanted to ask you, did you order the 24x24 cm sheets?
