    Hello,
when I tried to overclock my CPU with setfsb (I7 740QM) from 1,7GHz up to 2,2GHz I have a lower framerate than before. The same is happen when i use the Turob-Mode.

Give there a fix, or is this (ab)normal?

Your overclock has probably caused throttling to prevent heat damage to the CPU. What kinds of temperatures are you getting under load?

Well what you are seeing could be the game's feature "QueryPerformanceCounter" and in windows 7 it's based on the CPU clock to accurately calculate the game's FPS.

    Try this

    Open cmd and type:

    bcdedit /set useplatformclock true

close cmd window and reboot, this should fix it.

If you want to bring it back to default, just type this into cmd and reboot again:

    bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformclock

Glad it worked. Only need to run it once and it's set.

Sometimes you might need to right click on the cmd icon in the start menu and select "Run as administrator" for it to work.

But in games I don´t have any problems.

o_O Wow relevant topic. eXs, are you using throttle stop as well than? And are you using the independent PLL or a payed version of setfsb?

I don´t know...where I can find out if I use throttle stop? Is throttle stop only for the cpu, because I have much less cpu and gpu points :/
I used an older freeware version of setfsb (2.3.165).

If you haven't installed it, you're not using it. http://forum.notebookreview.com/hardware-components-aftermarket-upgrades/531329-throttlestop-guide.html

I highly suggest you try it out, as it can improve performance significantly under certain circumstances with zero loss.

Well I had issues getting even a 10fsb oc on my cpu, I just bought a setfsb key yesterday for 8usd and I'm now running 158 fsb instead of stock 132, giving me a 4 core speed of 2.3ghz instead of 1.72 and it's hugely notable.

I have a 162 fsb and a 4 core speed of 2,1 GHz. Why you have a higher core speed with a lower fsb?

Maybe a different CPU with a higher multiplier?

    Well 158 x 13 = 2054

Eldragon0 probably read too quickly or he's using a different CPU with 2 more multiplier :D
