Hi, i dont know if this a common problem but i would like to post what i found out anyways![]()
I have read many topics where people describe their problems whit the Twin Turbo functions, and i got the problem too. I could not use Twin Turbo or The Graphic change button, or at least the icon didnt show upp??!!
So i found some different forums and tried to find out what i could do... No help.
The problem wasent becouse i didnt have Power4Gear and ATK package, but simply that you have to be admin to use the functions (or for making the icon show upp).
Im using one admin account and one none-admin account on my windows 7, becouse iwe heard you should do it becouse of security, should I? (Dont want to harm my PC in any way, this G73 rocks and its brand new, so you understand...?!)

Man, don't worry about the twin turbo/Asus overclocker button switch, you can turn on ASUS overclocker function through BIOS Setup at startup even if you don't have Power4gear software installed. but you must install ATK Package to enable keyboard light..... remember if you don't like Power4Gear, just unstall it and use the standard windows powerplan.
thats all I know about my G73JH -
Okey, im no PC expert so i didnt know, thanks.

I just wanted to update this thread and ask a Q. Thanks to Blackluc and Dallers.

I have Power-4- grear- installed and have successfully done the fix from an elevated command prompt.
I am logging in as admin, when I press the TT button it does change the associated BIOS setting. But when I look at the clocks with AMD clock tool they do not change. Is this normal? Thanks, Crappyalloy
I guess having rep 8 does not indicate you know anything at all LOL -
Josea: TT mode does not effect the GPU, that is why you wont see a change with the GPU clock tool.
It is called "Twin Turbo" because it overclocks the CPU and RAM (by only doing one thing, raising the base clock of the computer, the front side bus, or FSB)
That fix, is to keep Windows own internal performance timers in sync with the modification made to the FSB (by either TT mode or SetFSB or some other program).
Before the fix, TT mode actually hurt performance because Intels Turbo Boost and Windows 7 would sorta "fall out of sync" with each other. With the fix, TT mode, and most any raising of the FSB/BCLK results in a percentage increase of the performance of the CPU and RAM (though just an FYI, many components are affected by raising the FSB speed, every component connected to the front side bus therefore essentially "communicates" faster, mostly with benign or undesirable results, but its only the performance of the CPU/RAM we are concerned with when raising the FSB/BCLK)
