Im back guys, and ready for some COD action! :)

What graphics settings are you on with Call of Duty Black Ops with your Asus G73?

I've been playing on 1920x1080, looks great, but just to get that tiny bit more fps I set AA off, all detail settings to low.

Also, is it just me, or is there only 2 resolutions (including 1920x1080) you can choose from, which actually covers the WHOLE screen. I have tried different resolutions with the Wide 16:9 and 16:10 enabled, but that does not make a difference, as it cuts off on the edges of the screen. So Im just sticking with my original choice resolution of 1920x1080.

There are a lot of stuttering issues with the game so be aware of that. I encountered them myself and was able to eliminate them by disabling shadows.

I never use AA in any game including this one. I have all other settings maxed out w/o vsync and I get 60+ fps.

In my case, everything maxed out at 1080p at stable 60 fps with vga at 760/1060. Never use AA since at this resolution is unnecessary. In addition, AA render slowdowns in high action/explosion scenes.

I have no interest in the multi-player for Blops since I detest COD mutli-player.

For the single player what I did for the best performance appearance I did this. I set in game settings to max on everything except for AA, @ 1080p not an issue for me on a 17" screen. But in Catalyst, I turned off AI and set mipmap texture to performance. It looks better than with AI on and MipMap on High Quality and yet get better performance.

Maybe it's just on this machine, but you can give it a try to see if works for you!

Playing Black Ops after getting the JW 2 days ago. So far, have it at 1080p res, 8 AA, automatic textures and it seems to be playing pretty well.

Issue still is the stuttering in multiplayer. I've noticed that the issue is prominent in the beginning then it starts to become playable later on the map.... Anyone encounter this? Even with no AA

Runs great on mine. About 40 to 60 fps, with everything max, no AA.

Just that the netcode sucks, and slight teleporting and shots not registering are still occurring.

Runs high 80s-110ish fps on my machine. (G73JH-X3)

Not using AA or AF (I do not like the image effect, never have, call me weird). Resolution is running at the highest I can which is 1080.

I turned OFF shadows and I have not one tiny bit of stuttering. Turn shadows on and I get stuttering and frame rate drop to mid 50 fps. It's not a low frame rate, but the stuttering is awful.

I too have found turning off shadows helps make the game run much smoother. I have AA set to 2x, everything else maxed out. Also Vsync is turned off, I've never liked that feature. I usually get around 75 fps on avg.

Yea, turning off shadows gives me constant 60 fps.

    I leave shadows on, though.
