    Asus G73 keyboard problem. Words skipping and cursor changing its mind.

    I bought a G73 from Best Buy last year and everything worked good. I did a reinstall of Windows 7 64bit last week, clean windows, just installed essentials like Catalyst 58xx latest official from AMD's site and sound drivers, installed games and everything is working perfectly except typing.

    When i type, some letters skip in the words I type and sometimes the blinker itself moves back a couple sentences and I start typing in the middle of those sentences.

    This never happened to me before with this laptop. Is this a G73 issue or some software on my windows that's causing this?

    It's weird to see that your issues only appeared after doing a clean install. I have a 74sx with similar issues, and if you poke around this forum (or ANY G series forum), you'll see that these machines are riddled with horrendous keyboard and touchpad issues.

    You will want to install the ATK package and the keyboard filter. Also update your bios to version 213 if you haven't done so already.

    Go into Asus SmartSense in your mouse driver Advanced settings, and adjust your active area to what works for you. Most people riddled with touchpad and keyboard issues don't know how to tune them with their software. A handful actually have a hardware issue.
