I wonder about the CPU temps...

The majority here are aware of the GPU temps, but what about the CPU?

I use my Asus for MS Flightsim X only, a "CPU hog" - and the CPU temps are 85-90 C under load.

Right now iddle is climbing to 55-60 C (laptop 4 months old) - the GPU temps are OK I guess - 75-80 C, FSX is not GPU dependent.

Do I need to repaste (Oh no...!!!) - or can the fan speed be adjusted?

My CPU temps have been dramatically climbing as of late. Been idling at 53-56 and 70-76 under load. Way too high for my comfort zone, going to buy some ICD7 today actually. Considering I'm always editing and rendering videos, I need the CPU to be cool. If your CPU reaches 90 then I would repaste in a heartbeat but be careful, it voids your warranty.

Did you try dusting the fan first?

OK, I´ll try to clean the fans and see what happens...

Will Asus make it possible to adjust the fanspeed you think?

    Mine is constantly showing 30%...

I also found removing the Asus Power4Gear software dropped temps by about 8-10c. It's also worth mentioning that the thermal paste used on the G73 gets dry and crumbly EXTREMELY fast [months] which can lead to increased temps.
