Hello there. I have a Asus G73, and as of last month I noticed that my unit would constantly shut down while playing 3D games. I had assumed it was the graphic card so I dismantled the laptop and repasted it. Unit runs a lot better now, however there is now a new nagging problem with the battery charge light. It stays orange all the time while the laptop is on, even if I take out the battery. The battery itself seems fine, it holds a charge and it is reported as fully charged. This happens even when I am boot up in Linux so I know it's not a issue with a windows driver.

The only time the light is not orange is when the unit is off or sleeping, then it is green.

I am wondering if I may have possibly shorted something while I repasted the graphic card, but I am not sure of what it could be. I would hate to redo everything all over again, but before I commit to such a act I am wondering if anyone has any ideas first on what I should do next.

    Thanks!

try unplugging the laptop and removing the batter for 10m or so then turning the laptop back on ,, also u can download HWiNFO32 and go to smart battery and check the stats there and see wear level and stuff

the green light on when the battery is higher the 95% so check if it is higher than that or not

    hoped that helped :)

You could try draining your battery fully and then recharging it. This functionally "resets" the battery, which may solve the problem. Of course, if you're actually having an issue with the battery getting a charge, you might want to not do that.
