Im running speedfan on both laptops side to side, SW is at around 30c and down to about 27c

My old JH is at around 40C and up to about 50C....

should I have my notebooked repasted while the RMA is going on for my screen?

    Or is this ok?

Sounds normal to me. I don't own a SW but those are normal idle temps for a JH. Makes sense a SW would be cooler with the temp based turbo boost and cooler running GTX460m

By default the 5870m runs hotter then the 460m.

As long as you're under 85C at load, you're gold. 95C for those in hot places.

Sandy Bridge 2nd Gen i5 runs much cooler than first gen i7. Temps between 460M and 5870M should be nearly the same with proper thermals.

40oC to 50oC on a JH you should feel honoured.

Golly those are low temps coming out of the SW I must resist the need for a Sandy for another year though :D

I want one of those SWs as well. I am working on convincing my wife that she needs my JH...

How are the touchpads on those?

Touch pad seems about the same, no issues on mine. Having 2 buttons vs 1 seems much better too.

And yeah, these SB CPUs runs pretty cool, when my room was about 68f, I saw the CPU drop to as low as 26c on idle.

over all i like my ati over 460

I find the SW has deeper bass as well, is this something with the drivers or is it new speakers?
