I'm sure everyone is sick of hearing problems about the EAX Creative sound driver but I can't find any support for this specific problem I have. So I have a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and I have the latest Realtek R2.48 driver installed along with the Creative software. Everything works however when I got to enable Bass Boost the program crashes. Its readout is this...

Dose anyone know of a fix for this because this is getting ridiculous. There is so little support from Asus with drivers and quite frankly I'm tired of this.

When I installed Realtek 2.47 driver Creative software weren't able to detect the sound card anymore.

For some reason it dose detect the sound card on all versions. Also I used the Asus default one, R2.47, and R2.48 but they all crash only at Bass boot. I cleanly uninstalled them before doing anything. I also can use the Ease of Access Center and Steam with no problems.

I'm having the exact same problem. I used the Realtek 2.49 drivers and the Creative Audio Center v2.00.06. Weird thing is I don't have the EAX options in the CAC screen, I just have 2 buttons: Speakers and Mixer.

    Any ideas?

This is a known issue on all these laptops and there have been many threads about this. Refer to the G73JH Problems and Soultions thread in my signature and next time perhaps try a search before opening a new thread.

Than use the other options.. either uninstall Creative completely or just do not use bass boost.
