Hi , i'm having this very strange problem. Basically the CD/DVD drive is not showing up in windows... Yesterday , It had disappreard but after a restart it came back... Now even after restarting i can't do anything. It doesn't display in BIOS too and worst of all it opens and spins a little from the noise before nothing happening... this is weird. Any ideas? I don't think its spoilt or anything..

    Thanks

Being as invotative as i was , tried some stuff from internet. It seemed one CD was always causing it to disappear... restarts made it appear... now i don't seem to be having problems anymore but this gets stanger and stranger... even got BSOD and windows didn't load because i deleted something  ... tried last known good config and worked... this is really baffling...more issues now to deal with...

Could it be the CD drive itself (hardware) thats the issue? try removing the drive and see if you have any problems.
