Just received my G73Jh back from warranty repair for strange LCD issues (PSOD-like symptoms).

Now, I'm encountering strange behavior when I turn on the laptop. When I push the power button, the laptop goes through a weird cycle of:

    1) laptop's keyboard LEDs light up
    2) it sounds like the hard drive starts spinning, but monitor remains black
    3) after 4 or 5 seconds, everything powers down
    4) a few seconds later, go back to #1 and repeat the cycle

After a few cycles, the laptop eventually boots up in normal fashion and seems to work fine, but I am concerned.

I have a OCZ Solid 2 SSD installed as the primary boot drive. I'm wondering if it's a sign that it's about to fail or there's some other issue at hand.

What could be causing the laptop to not just power up normally from the start? Anyone else encounter this problem?

First go into BIOS (F2 at power on) and reset to defaults and while in BIOS verify that both drives are being seen. Then test, I would also switch the hard drives from 1 bay to the other.

You can also do a system reset - press the button on the bottom with a long narrow object.

And try re-seating your ram. Maybe it came loose during shipping.
