Hello! My first post on this forums and i'm looking for help.

I tried reinstalling windows on my laptop to leave it with factory settings.

The laptop has been working great with no problems.

What i first did was use the recovery dvds that i burned when i first got the laptop. It worked fine till the end of dvd 2 gave me an error (said error -3) I had to restart the laptop. It didnt took me to Windows again and it said boot from drive.

Tried again and failed again with error -3

So i did the f9 instead this time. I selected to just install in one part of the partition and leave the other one as it was. it installed and asked me to restart.

Now here is the problem. I turn on the laptop now and nothing happens. The screen is black no sounds no nothing. Just turns on and nothing happens. no boot screen or anything :( . I tried connecting the laptop to a computer screen but still nothing happens. F9 doesn't work this time or nothing. It seems dead.

I am taking it to best buy tomorrow where i bought it from to see if they can help.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated at this point. I you need more information please let me know.

if you used easyflash to flash your bios this may have been the cause. i brought this issue up with asus a few times but i am not sure what was done about it. We have listed this issue on our forum as a present and ongoing issue for atleast a few months now. Try the obvious, reseating / taking out ram, holding reset.... in my experience with the g73 this type of activity is usually caused by easyflash and sometimes bad ram or ram ports (rare).

on the jh there is a pinhole on the bottom. click the button inside with a paperclip and hold it down for 5 sec. unplug from power sources. try the ram too

Is there a difference between this and holding the power on button for 30 seconds with battery and AC disconnected? Thanks Josea
