Has anybody else noticed that their screen hinges are getting loose really quickly over time. Mine definitely don't seem as tight as they used to be, and that's to be expected, but it feels like they are degrading a little too quickly...? Also, you can tighten these up on this notebook, right?
Anybody else noticed this? Or am I just being paranoid? Seriously, just seeing the screen wobble when I tap the top of it is giving me the willies, feels like it's going to end up like my stepfather's work notebook...

Mine feels as sturdy as it's ever felt. Only had it for 2 weeks though...

I got mine in Feb and the hinges are still fine.

I am wondering if maybe his hinge screws are backing out and it's getting some play in it that way?
I don't think you would have to take the whole laptop apart to get to those. You would have to take some of the screws loose from the rear underside and then the rear cover just behind the LCD would pop loose. There are black and silver screws that hold the hinges down to the laptop if I remember correctly. Those could have backed out on one or both sides. It's been a while since I had it apart, but I think that's right. -
hinges are fine for me too, 5 months now.

My hinges are in perfect shape after 4 months of every day use.

I've had mine for a few weeks and it's the same. I actually wish it were a little more loose. I like how on my MBP I can open it without two hands.
-
^ Is yours one of the ones that also almost closes when you hold it at an angle?
-
mine looser than before but ok...still pretty solid.. about 98%.. had it for 2.5 weeks.

3 months so far. Everything is like brand new as the day I bought it, I take care of this guy like a baby. Only issue I have is some of the rubbing footing on the bottom came off which I just super glued back on.

Same here...everything is pretty tight and feels the way it was when I opened the box day one. It may also be because I only roll down my laptop screen once a day when going to bed...so there isn't much wear.

Got mine in February and it still takes 2 hands to open the lid.

Mine was quite loose, and it was a huge factor in my (two) RMA's. They didn't fix it the first time, but hopefully they will this time around. Nothing was broken, per say, but I'm a perfectionist when it comes to electronics, especially something like this.

Thanks people. Looks like I'm just being paranoid...again, lol.

Remove the hinge cover (4 screws along the back and 2 under the battery)pull the cover off you will see the hinges ,on the hinges you will see a spring loaded lock-nut on each hinge tighten each nut alittle at a time to increase the tension on the hinges.Should take less than 5 minutes from beginning to end.Good Luck!!

i'll remember that... just in case.
