Did you buy an original battery or something compatible?

If so and you are still in the warranty period just take it back. Otherwise, you might want to read the info on the battery (with aida64 or something similar) to check for its properties (fully charged capacity, current capacity, wear level, etc).

Have you tried checking the pins of your battery and the one it attaches to? Maybe try blowing it with some air can remove some dirt or something. Also try different things like removing the battery then attaching the AC then connecting the battery again etc. Or maybe try depleting the battery till 2% then shutdown the computer, then deplete the battery by turning-on the machine and let it stay for awhile in the BIOS until a hard shutdown. After depleting the battery, try charging it for around 15 minutes without turning-on the machine, then turn it on. Let me know if this helps.

Have you tried fully discharging the battery (to the point that the machine won't power up anymore) then charging it? If ever you have tried and got no luck with it, I think you'll need have to use its warranty and ask a replacement battery from the store where you bought the defective battery.

i just tried that and well no luck battery 0% available (plugged in, charging) consider replacing your battery, this battery is new, this is the reason why this battery is new because for this same problem i replaced my old one battery.

It's possible you have a faulty AC adapter or charging circuit.

Have you tried resetting your EC by powering off and removing the battery and ac adapter for a minute?

The embedded controller resets when it loses power, as I said above, remove all power sources: AC adapter and battery for a minute and try again.

If it won't charge even with a brand new (genuine replacement) AC adapter, either you have bad luck with batteries, or there is a problem with your charging circuit. Are you under warranty?

    Man, that sucks.

I just got one and apparently I didnt check the battery long enough while at starbucks.

Found out that capacity has dropped to ~3amps, from the 8 or so stock.

Lesson learned, time to get a new battery.

For your case, the battery may be repairable. But that involves disassembling the case and slow charge the cell until it's up.

I've tried that with a macbook's battery (when they had removable battery)
