I've played around with COD MW2 on my G73 and I am not sure that framerate i got is right. I want to compare results with other G73 owners and find out what is wrong in my settings. I've tried with turbo mode on, turbo mode off, played on High Performance settings. Catalyst 10.6 installed.

My settings are shown on screenshots and framerate in one of the solo missions.

And finally, what confuses me are those 2 videos on YOUTUBE, with almost double fps comparing with mine.

With the settings you used, I'm getting the same FPS as in the youtube video. I play with all the settings on max, so anti-aliasing x4 and sync every frame ON, the rest is the same, and I get 60ish.. I use the stock Asus drivers, BIOS 206, and NO OC.

Run GPU-Z and make sure your GPU clock is 699/1000:

    techPowerUp! :: Download TechPowerUp GPU-Z v0.4.3

I had same problem with non stock Asus driver when playing Dirt2, the frame rate was at around 21fps, found out GPU clock was at around 200. Restore the HD with stock driver fixed the problem and the frame rate on Dirt2 went up to 33~38.

It could be my registry was messed up:

    With 10.3 driver 19~22fps:

Restore HDD with stock drivers 30~38fps:

I didn't know what messed up my unit since I did system restore back to stock drivers, maybe you want to try uninstall the driver and reinstall with stock drivers.

I just tried Dirt2 with BIOS 209 and FPS still looking good:

Edit: When I found out my frame rates were extremely low the GPU-Z shows the GPU was ATI 5800 instead of 5870.

Have you tried other games? Is it just CoD MW2 which gives you below than normal FPS?

Did you do a fresh install of Windows, or restore to factory image from the HDD? From your screen shot, it would seem you still have a lot of Bloat from Asus....Try this excellent guide from David

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/asu...e-guide.html?highlight=Asus+utility+bloatware

Get rid of some of those pesky services, and heck you could even try Blackvipers, if you want to tweak Win7 to squeeze out more perofmance.

Looks like 5800 series is how ATI shows the card with the new drivers. Doesn't seem to matter. 10.6 is stable @ 705/1100.

    Cheers,

Hey! I had the same problem as you! I was getting performance that seemed slow compared to what people were saying the machine should run at stock! If you can, run 3d mark vantage, and tell us your CPU and GPU scores, then we shall see if maybe you received a faulty gpu, and in that case, a replacement is what you need, i'll run the test now and tell you what scores i'm getting.

Well, The overall stock score should be around 8234, The gpu score looks low, stock should be over 8000, so I really don't know what you should do, if its easy for you to replace it do so. I was getting scores similar to those and once I exchanged it, the new one I got was a lot better!

Yeah, that seems to be throwing all the other values off. Not sure how one would go about changing that. Can't remember if there is a setting in the BIOS or not. You could go into the BIOS and restore defaults, save and exit, see if that changes anything. Not sure.

Already tried BIOS restore defaults, nothing changed, still shows PCI-E x2. And there is no option in Bios for manual PCI-E Bus adjustment

Shoot. And, you already tried the changing the profile, so that out. Random thoughts follows:

    Reinstalling the Chipset drivers?

Reinstalling the display drivers (perhaps going back to stock)?

    Just not sure.

Not sure if this will help but try this:
1 remove the battery and AC.

2: use paperclip to stick into the reset pinhole at the bottom of the laptop for 5 seconds.

3: connect on the AC and turn on the laptop.

4: press F2 to enter BIOS.

5: tab to exit and restore defaults.

    6: save and exit.

7: boot to Windows and run GPU-Z again.

Can you check the Device Manger and then go to System Devices> PCI Express Root Port 1 -D138, Double click and go to Resources tab to see if there are any conflicts or error:

Hey guys, thanx a lot for help and givin me ideas for trying to solve this problem. At the end its not software or bios problem, the problem was hardware, and its bad motherboard. in the next few days i should receive fixed notebook. I'll post tests after that.

Thnx again @ all of you

I saw your screens and i have the same problem, but i am complaining only about MW2 (also low fps as yours) but so far the other games seems to run ok.
MafiaII bench i got 45 fps avg in 1920x1080 med/hig settings.
