    Hello there,

I'm having a bit of trouble with my G73JH that I can't seem to solve. So just a few weeks ago, this laptop started randomly freezing and crashing, and was fixed after I updated the Realtek drivers as was suggested in another thread.

After I did that my graphics card started to have issues. I would boot up the computer and see "ATI Host Application has stopped working" along with the inability to play games at all! I couldn't even run something as basic as Minecraft. I would start a game and nothing would happen. I tried updating my graphics card drivers and my computer would just crash.

So then I fresh installed windows, and re-installed all my programs. This morning I tried running Battlefield 3 and the game wouldn't start at all. Thinking it would solve the problem, I attempted to update my graphics card using the AMD Driver Authentication Tool, but my computer crashes everytime I get to "intsalling AMD display drivers". Worse, my computer started randomly freezing and crashing again, so I had to update the sound drivers once more.

I don't know what to do. I can't play games, nor can I update my graphics card without crashing. Does anyone have a solution for this? If so, I would greatly appreciate hearing it. Thank you very much! You guys are awesome.

Thanks for the reply JOSEA. Using Hwinfo64, my Video Bios version is: 012.017.000.004.035992

Where do I go from here?

Edit: I'm looking more into your post. I'll go ahead and try installing 12.11 as suggested in the thread you linked.

So I'm following he steps to install 12.11, and I can't find Catalyst Control Center to uninstall it from the uninstall manager. How do I uninstall it? :(

Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out. Had to click "AMD Catalyst Install Manager" in the uninstall programs window. Anyways, I did all the steps and it works now! Thank you very much JOSEA!

Open up your bottom panel and check the part number on your GPU. If it ends in -C1x, where x = any number, then you should update the VBIOS.
