    I recently purchased a used Asus G73JH-A1 laptop for a sweet deal, but the problem was that it did not come with any hard drives or discs. I purchased and installed a 60GB SSD and installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, and installed the necessary drivers. The problem is that the keyboard does not light up at all, not even on bootup. The bios is currently version 206. I've tried pressing Fn+F4, but nothing happens. All other hotkeys work flawlessly. Any suggestions? Thanks!

    P.S. How come AIM messenger does not work for me? When I try to log in, it says "Connection Lost." My connection seems to be fine. Does this have anything to do with 64 bit? This is my first time ever using 64 bit.

    1. Once in win 7 have U tried pressing the left button (of the 3 above the keyboard)? This will cycle back light off, all lights off, etc..... Then using fn f3 and fn f4?? If this does not resolve it;
    The first post in this thread should fix the issue assuming it is not a hardware problem.

    Also eventually you may want to upgrade the BIOS to version 213 a number of other potential issue will be resolved when going from 206 to the latest (213). I would not do this until the lights work.
    If you need any further help let us know.

    Aim should work as long as it is 32 bit. Do you have the latest AIM version ?

    I can't seem to make a bootable usb DOS. I have made bootable usb's with operating systems before, but never DOS. I followed the instructions with the HP tool, selected the win98boot folder, dragged the fixmykb files to my usb, and tried booting from there. I set my first boot priority to removable drive. The bios didn't recognize any removable devices, meaning that the USB is not bootable. Any help? Thanks
