So to be honest, I purchased this laptop mainly for FFXIV and some of the newer games. My old Gateway laptop was about 2.5 years old and while it still did a fair job at games, I wanted to upgrade. So I picked this laptop because it had very impressive specs, 8 gb of memory, a supposedly nice graphics card, 1 tb harddrive, the blu ray player.

Any way, so I played the FFXIV open beta on this laptop, the G73, and it ran flawlessly on the max settings. I was very impressed. However, when the actual game came out last Wednesday, I noticed that it was phenomenally choppy and jerky. Almost unplayable. As in, I could barely move or do anything. I figured this was because the game had just come out--there were thousands of players on now, that it would settle down. I did find it odd though that I wasn't seeing tons and tons of complaints on the internet that other people were having the same problem though.

Out of curiosity, we put FFXIV on my boyfriends HP dv7-3085dx that he bought last November. A nice computer, fairly new, but one that does not have quite the specs the G73 is suppose to have. And it runs flawlessly. Even side by side. No lag, no slow downs. It runs this game 100x better. They are on the same internet connection and both games are getting good connections to the game servers but mine is un-playably slow and his is perfect, the only difference being the computers running it. I even have the settings turned down on mine and they are up on his. I don't understand what the problem is since it ran the beta with no problem.

Everything is up to date for Windows, I have CCC 10.8. BIOS version 209. This computer did have the atrocious GSOD when I purchased it, but we flashed the bios weeks ago and that fixed *that* problem.

Any ideas with what is going on here?

And that's only threads which have the game name in the title....it doesn't take that much effort in looking around,I'm sorry but it really doesn't.
I have made posts myself asking questions which have been answered before, but I atleast try finding an answer on my own before making posts
