hey all. i couldnt find a fix for this, but i was able to pull up a page where chastity and a few others were saying that there is a link to the keyboard fix after flash 209. i bought mine refurb'd and the backlight keys worked on the first power, but dont come on since then. Now, when my computer restarts, the lights indeed DO light up, like during the post of my machine. i have a link here for Chastity's update page...

i want to make sure im looking at it right....
so the ATK package that was just released Oct 25th, 2011 should solve the keyboard lighting issue? or is it a different link.

I am running version 1.0.0008 and all my keys/lights work fine. I would recommend installing that version.

The most updated version of the ATK package also works, confirmed on a G73JH-BST7.

Also, if you ever turn the lights off, you have to FN+ toggle the lights back up for the keyboard lights.
