Whenever I use the shut down option in windows, it does the normal screen that says shutting down, but then stays on a black screen with all the lights still on. Also when I exit the bios my screen freezes.

Currently Running Windows 7 Home Premium
Has 8 gigs of RAM (Originally had 6)
500 gb seagate HDD 7200 rpm
    Has latest bios

thats weird...as it should not happen ...try flashing the modded bios or stock bios again to confirm that its not a bios issue and make sure all your RAMS are of same BUS SPEED

Would you mind linking me to a download of the modded bios? because in the original post the download link doesn't work.

Did this just start? If so it could be an issue with a windows application in the background.

I haven't installed anything new in the past month so I doubt that's the problem, but yes the problem just started 3 days ago. I've owned this laptop for about 7 months now and just started to have this problem
