    Hi guys

I'm under the impression that my laptop is getting louder and louder and time passes, I don't remember it being that loud when I first bought it.

When idle it is not that noisy but I can still hear the fans.. but as soon as I start browsing (never mind gaming!) the fans begin to spin quite significantly. Especially the GPU fan.

    Games are the absolute worst.

    I have a few questions.

In the Power4Gear Hybrid app, what does it do when I adjust the Power4Gear processor control?
    The options are:
    • Max performance
    • Moderate savings
    • Max Savings
Does it affect the CPU or the GPU as well? Below you have Maximum processor state and Minimum processor state, I tried playing with them but I never noticed any difference, I wonder if it's even functional.

I was also wondering if the fans accumulate dust and whether I should lubricate them once in a while.. if so, are there instructions online or a toolkit which I can purchase for that?

Any other advice is highly appreciated !!
    Thank you.

Check the temps using HWINFO and tick the box for sensors or select sensors and see what they are like at idle for the CPU + GPU and at load.

    Average:

    CPU. IDLE - 45-55oC LOAD 65-75oC
    GPU. IDLE - 45-55oC LOAD 75-85oC

If you are idling a lot higher than this and you are not near the equator you most likely need to clean the fans out with compressed air as when the radiators build up with dust the fans have to work harder to decrease the heat.

    Hi Yiddo.

Thank you very much for the info.

I did what you suggested and after cleaning the fans with compressed air and a strong vacuum cleaner the noise is virtually gone..

    I can't believe I haven't done that months ago!!

Many thanks for your useful reply!

Just remember that vacuums generate a lot of static, and can damage a notebook. Feel lucky that nothing happened. :)

The compressed air should be enough for clearing out the vents.
