    Hello!

I'm planning to buy Asus G73JW-XA1 on amazon, but one thing really confuses me.

According to amazon's product specifications, this notebook have DDR3 1333MHz RAM:
Amazon.com: ASUS G73JW-XA1 Republic of Gamers 17.3-Inch Gaming Laptop (Black): Computer & Accessories

But first user's comment says about 1066MHz RAM:
Amazon.com: LowerAmznCCRatesNow's review of ASUS G73JW-XA1 Republic of Gamers 17.3-Inc...
(1033 value here is just a typo, the value is 1066)

Asus USA site has info about 1333MHz memory:
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Notebooks - ASUS G73Jw

Asus global site has info, that 1066MHz memory used for i7-620M/i5/i3 platforms only:
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Notebooks - ASUS G73Jw
    (i3 platform in G73???)

Somebody asked the same question on amazon on 30.12.2010, but still no answer.
I can't post questions on amazon, because Asus G73 will be my first purchase, can somebody please help me to find an answer?
Perhaps somebody from the forum members use G73-XA1 model?

    Thanks in advance!

Me and my brother have bought our G73JH-A2 on Amazon and both came with 1333MHz RAM.

If you have said that a user's comment stated that it's 1066MHz and not 1333MHz, don't mind it. It was clearly said on the technical details that it comes with 1333MHz. If you have ordered it and received it with 1066MHz, you may call Amazon immediately and complain to them that they have sent you a product that does not meet the technical details provided on their page and I'm sure they will replace it.

Just make sure that the G73 that you are ordering from Amazon states "Ships from and sold by Amazon.com." for you to maximize your benefits from Amazon.

    Thanks for your answer.
    His comment says:
"2. The XA1 has 8GB of 1066Mhz memory as reported by the CRUCIAL memory tester program (although the outside of the box states 1333mhz)."
    And I's really interesting :)

And the additional question: is 1333MHz memory so better for 3dmax/games than 1066MHz? Maybe 1066 will be more stable or performance difference will not be so big, etc.

Very little difference at all if any. Unless you're playing games at ridiculously low resolutions, the CPU and memory have very little parts to play.

Or, amazon might give you $50 or so - I think the CSRs are authorized to offer you up to 7% of the purchase price in "price reductions in lieu of replacement"

The problem is that I'm not from USA. And this notebook will be purchased by my friend during the business trip.
I guess he will be annoyed when I ask him to test the memory speed, return the box to amazon in case of 1066MHz or got 50$/7% :D
