    The Asus G73Jw owners thread seems to have less activity now, and is to long for anyone to read anyway. So, I open a new thread with my question.

    Is the Asus G73Jw a good laptop today?

    The owners thread started with a lot of enthusiasm, and ended with a lot of problems like BSOD. (I only read the 20 first and last pages). I have a acer 7738g (T6600 2,2ghz, GeForce gt 240m, 4 gb ddr3, 2x500gb hd), and it looks like it would be an upgrade for me. I can find used ones at very reasonable prices. Could that be because there are serius issues with this model?
    Any advice is appriciated.

    Yes , you will feel day and night when compared with your acer,
    do you know this is an gaming laptop?
    This is a great upgrade for you, and do you know g73jw doesnt have gsod or bsod , only 1 in 1000 has problems.

    Can you get a a jw still. I have the SW that iis the next model newer. Same GPU just the sandy cpu. look at pricing as the sw might be at a similar price.

    It's done. I bought the jw. You are probably right JayBGamer, but it's the jw I got a good deal on now. Don't feel like waiting forever when I have decided.
    evgasr2, I don't know if your last comment was for me or JayBGamer, but I'm not selling the acer. My wife will be using it.
