I have Asus G73Jw that is upgraded with 128Gb Crucial M4 SSD and using the OS Windows 8.. I remember that If I use SSD, one thing that is cannot be done is hibernation And I forgot that I have turned off the hibernation setting or not..

I just got back from work, I just CLOSE THE LID (i don't know if its going to hibernate or sleep) and when I got back, my laptop cannot be turned on. It says "reboot and select proper boot device".

I restart my laptop, and the Asus logo is not coming out.. After 30 seconds or so, the Asus logo came out and it is asking for the proper boot device. I did go to bios but I cannot find the SSD in the boot option.

Can someone help me how to fix this problem?? If the SSD got the hibernation problem, is it still fixable? Please help me.. I really need to use my laptop..

The latest firmware is being a bit picky, if this happens leave the machine in the bios for 15-20 minutes and the SSD will reset and recover.

Hi meaker, thanks for the reply..

And it is happening again!! The moment I want to change the hibernation setting, my laptop suddenly off and I cant turn it on again.

Im currently trying your suggestion to wait in bios for several minutes.. Is there any thing i can do so this will not happen again??

I'd check out the crucial forums, see if anyone has any ideas, they will have more experience of this.
