    My problem
During regular computing, my computer will hang for a period of roughly 1 to 2 seconds, and then will return to normal operating procedure. This will happen at random intervals, maybe two or three times in a minute. It tends to happen more often when running big applications like computer games. When the computer hangs I'm still able to move my mouse but my mouse clicks wont respond.
Here are examples of what I'm talking about:
    1.
Let's say I'm typing an email, and all of a sudden, as I'm typing out a sentence, the letters I hit on the keyboard aren't showing up. After the 1 to 2 second waiting period, all the letters I had just typed that didn't show up will all be printed out into the email window... it's like they are being printed through a for loop (one at a time, very quickly, sequentially).
    2.
I'm playing a game, whether something stupid online or something like Battlefield 2, and as I'm moving around within the game, everything stops for the duration of the waiting period. Nothing happens, except time in the real world passes by, and then when the waiting period ends, everything picks up right where it left off.

    Computer details
    Computer modell: Asus G73Jw
Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
    Prosessor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU Q 740 @ 1.73GHz (8 CPUs), ~1.7GHz
    Memory: 6144MB Ram
    NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 460M 1.5GB GDDR5 VRAM

    What I've tried
I've had the computer serviced where they said that all the hardware worked fine, and that its a software problem.
I've updated VGA driver, Realtek audio driver, Chipset and BIOS.
The computer is also up to date with every windows update known to man.
The computer has been reformated serveral times but the problem still persists.

I'm no computer expert, and it seems I'm at the end of my rope here. Any advice on how to fix this issue is more than welcome. :(

Welcome to the forum, this can be fixed. I would check to see if there is a firmware update for your hard drive first.
Do you have plenty of free space on hard drive where the OS is installed?

    Thanks for the quick reply!
As far as I can see there is no update for my HDD's firmware.
I have 35gb free space out of 116gb on my OS disk.

What hard drive do you have? It really sounds like a read/write problem and i noticed you didnt list the hard drive or SSD for that matter

Are you using MS AHCI or Intel RST drivers?

In the device manager under IDE ATA/ATAPI-CONTROLLER it says I have "Intel (R) 5 series 4 Port SATA AHCI controller". I hope thats the information you were looking for.

Just to be a bit more clear on the issue I'm having. The FPS drops randomly down to a lvl were the computer just freezes. Specially when playing games. The FPS will constantly drop from around 60~100 to 0~14, after 1 ~ 3 secs the FPS will pick up again.

Open up the Properties to see if the Provider is MS or Intel. :)

Well, you could Update Driver, and force it to use the MS AHCI one if you wish to.

It comes with Windows 7, you'll need to force the swap by manually installing it in Device Manager

I just love the new generation of Windows users... they don't know how to install drivers and don't know what DOS is. :)

    1) Open up Device Manager
    2) Select "Storage Controllers", Intel blahblah SATA Controller... Properties
    3) Driver...Update Driver...Let me pick from a list of device drivers...
    4) Select "Standard AHCI 1.0 Serial ATA Controller"

    Reboot.
