Greetings!
I tried fixes to similar problems already posted, but still can't solve the issue. I had my computer stuffed up with a lot of material, running multiple programs for a longer period of time (architecture student in the last days before turn ins). At some point computer started freezing often in a program (ArchiCad), sometimes even when for example only opening a folder in windows explorer. (these freezes last for like 3-5 seconds, give or take a few).
After this I tried to do a clean install of windows and hoped the issue will be solved, but it didn't. I gave the computer to a company that's fixing them and they updated the drivers, tested some stuff etc., but I ended up with problem still not being solved. There was a similar issue with NVIDIA graphics drivers, so I did a clean install of windows again, and a clean install of a driver version that should be working, but still the issue persists (I experienced small freezes even when putting in windows serial number when installing windows itself, so it has to do something with notebook's hardware?)
The issue is sometimes seen when playing a movie in VLC media player, otherwise its only seen on delays when browsing the internet, opening folders or files in windows explorer or sometimes even when typing (when it unfreezes, for example 2 words you typed during the freeze appear instantly). The best seen is inside a game (particulary world of warcraft - a version that can be launched directly from the disc and does not need an install). Freezes happen there constantly, even for longer periods of time, also the game sound starts looping, like the same note plays over and over and then continues with normal music (even if the image itself doesn't freeze).
I recently noticed that if I run the game from an exterior disc, there's a lot less freezing, only some, but most appear when multiple stuff happens or there's a more complex events happening, but not at all times. Could the disc be corrupt and is source of the issue? I have the computer for about 3-4 years and so far did not experience any trouble.
I apologize for a long post, but the problem is really hard to explain and sometimes hard to show, as the issue won't be present when you wish to expose the problem. I'm kinda desperate as have no clue what else can I do to fix the issue, so if anyone experienced same thing or have a clue what could I do to fix this, please post.
Thank you in advance!

Hi. How are temperatures? It might be hdd especialy if it socalled hybrid drive from seagate. I remember people complained that ssd partition get fuked up with time.

Seagate use a small SLC chip (if not in the latest drives at least MLC) so I would not expect it to degrade too quickly.

Hi, thanks for the responds. HDD is Seagate Momentus XT 500GB.
I tried to switch it with another disk (exactly the same, just withou XT extension), installed fresh windows on this one, and so far no problems. Allthough, I have to test it more before I buy a new disk.
Temperatures are listed below (running on this replaced disk as I write this).
Maybe updating Momentus XT firmware would solve the problem, if the issue is in the hdd? -
Good to hear that. I am sure it is culprit for your trouble as I have experienced same problem before. And even read some threads around here about seagate sshd disks failing after 1 year. I remember I have downloaded something from seagate that time and disabled whole ssd partition and hdd worked just fine afterwards. I have eventualy sold that laptop some time ago.

It's worth trying the latest firmware yes.
