Guys I've owned this laptop for a around 4 months and every once in a while the screen would turn into a rainbow of evil pixels but it would usually go away. Now its on my screen perminately. Nvidia updates didn't help and now I have an external monitor hooked up and its perfect on that but still messed up on the laptop lcd so I'm guessing I have a messed up screen. Anyone know of a fix or should I just send it back while I'm still under warranty? (which they never sent me any info about on whether they recieved my information)

My money is on the LVDS as well, but send it back to Asus in any case, knowing them they'll replace both the cable and LCD. They tend to take the replace everything approach often.

took it apart, it was a breeze and I simply pressed down on the cable to ensure it was on. Is that how I'm supposed to reseat it? I wasn't to clear on the exact "reseating" process. Anyway it fixed it a little bit but If I press hard enough on the keyboard area above the cable when the laptop is on the screen goes crazy again. A tech guy at my job said its more likely that the cable is bad rather than it needing to be reseating. What do you guys think?

Yes the cable could be bad! Send it to ASUS like tijo said.
