I bought this unit in March and it performs well. I cracked the LCD screen last night by closing the lid on my mouse. Can I upgrade the screen to the HD 1080p? This unit had a max res. of 1600x900. If so, can anyone supply part numbers and a prefered vendor? Is there anything else I need to know? I will change the screen out myself. Much appreciated! I see the websites state you can not upgrade the resolution. Is this true? I've been scouring this site for hours but the JH model is the one listed.......I am totaly confused now.......glossy? matte? what is best?

unfortunately it was purchased from best buy......all of the posts cover the JH model and nothing for the SW model that I have that was my biggest concern. I am now going to assume they are the same, as far as screen compatibility is concerned. I am ordering one now. Thank yoiu for the reply, I have been beating my head against a freaking wall.

Yeah as far as I know the panels should be compatible.

Nobody has swapped a SW screen out as far as I have seen on the forums. The chassis is the same, and I'm not sure unless it's a 3DE model that you would have any compatibility problems.

It's the 3D model, it comes with 3D glasses, has a transmitter mounted next to the webcam, etc.

ahhh nope deffinately not the 3-D model. I have read so many posts on the AUO screens being better in latter revisions, mine was a 3.0. there is a 4.0 on the market now then there are so many other brands and everyone has a different opinion. I want a 1080p screen but am totaly lost as to what to buy. compatibility is key though.

The only way to be 100% sure is to search for the PDF specsheet of the particular rev you own and the rev you want to swap with. Look at the pinout and also the type of connector.

The threads listed in the sticky should have some good starting places.
