Where can I find this laptop currently in stock regardless of the version.
I talked to the 2 guys who were selling theirs yesterday but it seems that they have sold their laptops.
I heard someone referring once to X2 version, where can I find it?

My 870 costs almost the same as the G73.

I had all the parts here except RAM so the barebone was $1,119 shipped.

Why did you get the 1600 memory? The proc supports 1066/1333.

Because I got them for the same price as el-cheapo RAM ($60 for the pair).

I figured it won't matter. It'll just run at CAS 9 instead of 7.

    Big. Whoop.

    :)

I wouldn't worry about the latency just the compatibility. Let us know if it works. Do you have some 1066 or 1333 memory to test with just in case?

    Nope.

If it doesn't work than I'll just get some 1333 overnighted. I don't see why it wouldn't work though. All memory can run slower, it's usually the other way around that you have issues (trying to get slower RAM run faster to match FSB).

I guess we will see :D

If this was the C2D architecture I would agree with you. Compatibility lies in the processor with the i7 systems because the memory controller is built in. It is much more pickier than C2D because of that.

In your case I probably would to. Mainly because it's a bare-bone system and the memory is the only thing you haven't tested. You could always return it if the 1600 works fine.
