Simply put, does anyone know of a good external battery for the G73jh. I'm looking to not only play games on it, but also take it to class. I couldn't stand my primary source of notes dying on me in the middle of class. So I figured I'd look for a good external battery and I can't seem to find one. Thanks in advance.

A slice battery option would be nice on a G73. Someone go pinch Asus.

Take a look at the Tekkeon MP3450. Based on Amazon customer reviews it seems like a decent option for people in your situation.

I'm going to suggest that you drop $150 on a netbook for note-taking. The g73 isn't too much more portable than a desktop.

I don't really care how non-portable it is. I'll drag that thing to classes if I have to, just for the simplicity of only having one computer to put all of my work on. Besides, it isn't like 8 pounds is more than what my high school text books were... *sigh* But yeah, I wish they just had a better solution for us students who would like a powerful laptop capable of playing games but also need the battery life and reliability of something like a Macbook. >.<""" *shutter*

There are ways to get more than an hour of battery life out of the G73. That, combined with a spare battery or option like David mentioned would work fine I would think, unless you have like 5 classes in a row.

You might have some issues with an external battery with a desktop replacement laptop. I have a g50v that runs at +-19v and most external batteries top out at providing power for 19v sources. I can use the external for power but my laptop reads it as AC at times and then Battery and fluctuates power modes because of the fluctuating level of current being provided from the external battery. So if you do go looking for an external battery make sure its output is >19v or whatever the power supply of the g73 needs.

LMAO .. Since when are Macbooks powerful? You want a computer "powerful" like a macbook, then get a UL30 or something. Wait, that's actually BETTER, since apple decided NOT to update their 13 inch offerings.

so using amd gpu clock tool (see betaflame's post for specifics) you can underclock gpu to get about 3 hours of battery life out of it (just don't open youtube or otehr big image sites or you could crash)

When I meant "powerful" I meant battery life. Sorry for the miscommunication.
