Ever since I re-installed the Windows to its factory state, I've been having this popping sound problem.

And I know this isn't the hardware issue because this noise did not occur before I re-installed the Windows.

It happens whenever I'm on the internet, especially when I'm watching youtube videos, and it happens once every 10-20 minutes.

So I don't know.... I've tried almost everything to fix this issue...

After going through bunch of research, I heard that, by disabling the "power management" fixes this popping noise issue.

But the thing is I have no idea how to disable the power management. haha.. :p

    Anybody know how?

    I'd be greatly appreciated. :)

You never know; there could be some very coincidental timing at play here. Hopefully that's not the case though and the hardware is intact and fully functional still. :)

You're basically going to set everything for performance in Power Options (Control Panel) and make sure nothing turns off. I've seen this work for a Gigabyte board that had a known problem with its audio as well, but it's a hit or miss troubleshooting step. Did you already install the latest drivers? Particularly for your audio and your chipset.

The drivers available on Asus website are out of date. Please download Realtek drivers and uninstall your old drivers then install the new drivers from Realtek's website.

I'm sorry but how do you exactly set everything for performance in Power options?

Thanks for all the replies and help.

    Much appreciated. :)

Open power options, choose High Performance - Change plan .. - Change setings- Change settings that are not available - then go through all settings as ProStar suggested above.
In Catalyst Control Center (CCC) - Power - Power play - make sure enable powerplay is checked on - set plugged in to Max ...
I am not running Power-4-gear so if you use it your settings may differ.
Did the suggestion by Inferno1217 help?
