Could anyone direct me towards a link on how to get the subwoofer working on my JH please.

I have tried creative and realtek drivers but I cannot get them to work together and run 2.1.

    Any help is appreciated.

im in the same boat..just did a recovery of windows via the recovery partition and i cant tell if its working or not..i have creative already downloaded but everytime i try to do the bass boost thing it freezes up ( the program and i cant do nothing with bass at all) and i dont see a CMS-3D setting anywhere..

is the latest realtek on asus or realtek website?
and im on 211 i need to be on 213?

Have you got the original drivers? I just installed the latest Realtek driver 2.58 I think and then Chassity did a post on the oiginal drivers ISO for the G73JH I just installed the Creative driver from that and bingo subwoofer and all the EAX 3D etc. Use your original driver disc to install the Creative bits and pieces with a later version of Realtek and it stops the crash when you go into bass.

The subwoofer should work without the Creative software. Anyhow, check in Device Manage under Audio Devices to see if its called "Realtek High Definition Audio" or "High Definition Audio". If its called the latter, they you need to reinstall the Realtek Driver again and reboot when it asks. As the latter is the Microsoft generic drivers and it will turn the subwoofer into a seperate playback device from the 2 speakers causing it to not work. Also under setup for stuff like MPC-HD, don't choose 2.1, it won't have any sound that way. 2.0 is fine and the Realtek drivers split the source accordingly.

Did you check the Windows Audio app and see if you have 2 "Speakers" entries? If so, uninstall, reboot, and run Driver Sweeper 2.85 for the Realtek Audio. Then reinstall the drivers.

Right-click the Speaker icon, and select "Playback Devices"

if there is only one, then your speakers are properly setup, at least as far as the drivers are concerned. You probably just want to boost the bass levels

Then try a clean reinstalling of windows. If it still doesn't work, then talk to your retailer for an RMA.

Hi I have exactly this problem. Could you please write a bit more complex manual to it. For example I do not have any idea what to uninstall and where to find it o_O. Thank you

Download the current Realtek Audio Driver (2.63) and Driver Sweeper 3.1.0 from my Driver and Application Reference.

G73 Series Driver and Application Reference

Go into Control Panel and select "Uninstall A Program" From here, you will see the huge list of drivers an apps that you have installed, including one called "Realtek High Definition Audio Driver". Select that and hit "Uninstall" Follow the prompts, and it will ask you to reboot. Do so.

Run Driver Sweeper, and select the Realtek Audio option. It will want to do an analysis first, then remove the unwanted entries and driver pieces.

Then run the Realtek 2.63 installer. Reboot.
