Try your local Chroma store. If they don't have them you can also ask Asus India where they have them for sale in your area.

    ASUS Technology Pvt. Ltd. *
    18002090365 (10:00-18:00 Mon. ~ Sat.)

If you still can't get a definitive answer, your next best option would to probably get one from a US reseller like gentechpc and have them ship it to you.

Why would you want a Laptop like this
when the Net Speed in India is not even 1Mbps

When will they get 10Mbps Internet
    i think by 2015 :(

thats sad, really wish they get better speed

too true... and trust me , even with the crapiest internet plan in india , i still got 1Mb/s +... that is on a lousy plan... better plans are available and don't think india is backward... it might not be as modern was US but still , its still better than other countries around it... and don't critise india like that.. this indian will shoot u down..

Its not available in India. Even though you will manage to buy from USA, then what about warranty ? If you had some problem with the unit, again you have to send it to the reseller with the burden of highly costly postal charges for to and fro. So think before buying an Asus laptop in India. They have to go a long long way here.

So, do you think a person will buy a gaming laptop like this primarily for internet ? For internet a Rs 20,000/- laptop will also do.

Again who told you that you do not have option of even 1 MBPS in India ??? I'm having 2 MBPS line at home from BSNL with a monthly rental of Rs 500/- with additional other free goodies. BSNL even offers 24 MBPS plans. Yes, you can say its not cheap like USA in India yet.

Asus has repair facilities in India and any Asus laptop purchased from a US reseller comes with a 2 year global warranty. So you shouldn't have any problems sending your US bought G73 to the Asus India repair center. The only problem is that the repair center may not have an inventory of G73 parts and would have to order them from Taiwan. This may potentially lengthen the turnaround time for the repair.

The broadband penetration in the USA is pitiful, it's as bad as it is in india - sure, great speeds if you're in a city and can afford it ... but most of the USA isn't in a city.

And 1mbps isn't bad for transfer speeds, considering I grew up with a 14.4 and thought 56k modems were FAST...

I'd consider Best Buy more as a retailer, but either way, some Asus Best Buy units do have 2 year warranties. Although most of the time they are only 1 year.

I think any USA reseller is not offering FREE shipping to India. The shipping cost has to paid by the consumer. Correct me, If I'm wrong.

Just to clarify, I didn't write the original post and the URL was corrected for the purpose of accuracy. I have no idea what would be involved shipping a G73 to India from the USA. I would presume if the seller was going to make the transaction, that the buyer would also be responsible for the shipping.

Most of the seller will not ship free of cost to other countries outside the US.

I myself ordered N71JQ-A1 from Gentech PC.
The shipping cost with USPS from USA to Germany was 149$.

I bought is from Gentech PC in USA.

There were two reasons why I ordered it from a seller in USA .
Fisrt, it was not available in Germany when I ordered it back at start of February.
Second, the seller is very good and trustworthy. Ken Lee from Gentech PC is among the best. :)
I don't like to buy something so expensive from eBay outside European Union.

usually, these notebooks are world class and nothing really should happen to them.

However, if it DOES go wrong, asus will repair for you in your country. If they dont have spares available, they are supposed to import it for you and repair your machine, the downside of this being increased turnaround times usually 30 days.

Is it cheaper in Dubai than USA ? Most of Asus laptops ve 2 yrs of global warranty, so it does not matter from where you buy. But careful if Asus have adequate service centers in India and the relevant parts of ur model available in India :D

    56K? You were spoiled. :p

The first "modem" I used involved putting the phone's handset into an acoustic coupler. I've seen nearly every iteration since then and could open my own museum. :)

I just came by this thread as happenstance and would like to tell the OP that G73Jh is not available in dubai or UAE anywhere, as I have spoken to the Asus Customer service here myself! The best thing you can do, if you have not already purchased it by now as the last post was over 2 months ago is to buy it from xoticpc or gentech and the shipping will cost you $150, which I have confirmed with Ken Lee at gentech.

well since someone brought this thread back from the depths,
for the OP and all Indian Asus fans, the G73JH-TZ128V is now retailing in India for ~Rs92,000
still cheaper to have a friend bring it in from the US if possible

Live with your luck as Asus does not sell the model in India its again too difficult to get their service with a finger count Asus centers in India. If you live in India then you must have know the brand value of Asus here. People even never heard of its name ! Still lets hope you will not have any problem with your G53JW, then go for it as its a good laptop with FHD screen.

What happened to your SXPS 1645 ???
CPU throttling and more heat ?
If its in warranty ask Dell to replace it with a new SXPS 1647 along with a 130watt adapter and to send a coolingpad :D

If you have money to spend you can get upto 24 MBPS. Still broadband is in its infant stage here. In future there will be more speed with less price.

But if you ask me, I have budget 2 MBPS plan for monthly Rs 500/- (approx $11.5) and its sufficient for me.

Asus G73JH is available in India..(on Import)! Have seen 3 guys selling em..

    >> Name - Vijay
    >> Store Name - Technotronics
    >> Cost - 92,000 + Shipping (In India, which he quoted 600 INR)
    >> Shop Location - New Mumbai.

    # Computers Hardware, Peripherals, Cameras, Laptops, Gaming Equipment Tech Heaven, Thin client Lamington Road, Mumbai
    >> Name - Dunno
    >> Store Name - Primeabgb
    >> Cost - 93,000 + Shipping (In India)
    >> Shop Location - Mumbai.

    # smartshoppers.in
    >> Name - Catherine (Handler)
    >> Store Name - Smart Shoppers
    >> Cost - 94,495 + 245 (Shipping)
    >> Shop Location - Chennai.

    ---------------------------------------------------
I've bought from SmartShoppers as I've bought from em before :) cant say bout the other two though..

I don't think anybody's still able to get the JW version (In India) yet.. :) I prefer ATI 5870 over Nvidia 460m anyways.

    Somethings u must know..
    --------------------------------
    # ATI Mobility 5870 > Nvidia 460m
    # ATI 5xxx is present best cards available in laptops, though Nvidia 460m will handle futuregames better! (Dx-11)
    # The JW models came wid some awesome changes..hopefully with less troubles though.
    # Nvidia has tessellation advantage over ATI.
