One more ! !

Definitely seems like the cable is not connected properly or something is wrong with the cable itself. The second picture actually looked like physical damage until I realized it was most likely the pattern on the screen.
-
hey thanks for the very quick reply ! actually the cable is properly connected i am having the lcd removed from the case and the laptop disassembled at the moment... i have applied pressure too on the the sides (the lcd's and the motherboard's side) but still same !

Yes colour issues like that are usually not the panel itself, what does the bios look like?
-
i will add the photo of it in bios and show it to you ...its type of blurry ! will post the photo today

Did you try hooking up an external display? Certainly firmware/hardware related rather than software.
-
yes i did and there i get perfect picture quality

This is very likely a screen problem, possibly its driver board. -
i re installed the driver but no luck ! well tomorrow i will go to the market and buy a new lcd cable and see what i get in result
-
Kevin@GenTechPC Company Representative
The driver board I was talking about is part of the LCD screen itself.
It might be that, or something else. -
ummm but i guess its the cable because my original one which is damaged when i plug it and compare with the new one ...the colors are much better and text is readable as compared to the new one ! i have ordered a new one ..lets see what happens now

Yeah, if it's just the cable then it will be an easy fix.
-
yeah waiting for the cable and see the result eagerly lol

UPDATE : Tried 2-3 new cables and a NEW LED too ! but still the results were same ! i read at this page that the guy EVGASR2 was having the same issue of weird artifacts and colors but he was having heat up issue too but i am not having that ! he flashed the card to A00 i guess ! and i dont know how to do that ! i hope someone can help me out with this problem as i am only able to use my laptop on external display !
-
UPDATE 2 : Got the internal LCD to work flawlessly without any problems ! flashed the vbios of Dell's 5870m of A00 revision ...the old one was A01 which had issues in alienware same as mine with the internal display colors ! now as i have flashed the A00 revision its working perfect
but the fans are still at full RPM ! well atleast i have got one great work done

Oh wow, so the new VBIOS A01 had issues, but did you update from A00 to A01 previously before the symptom occur? -
actually my original asus's 5870m died i dont know how ! so i bought a used as it is dell's 5870m ! in the start i thought my lcd cable is damaged because on external display it was showing proper colors except on internal lcd ! so i ordered a new lcd cable and tried on that but it didnt work and then i read on alienware's thread that its the issue with the REV A01 compatibility with G73jh ..in order to make the laptops's internal lcd screen u have to flash the Vbios of A00 to make it work and thats what i did ! i can provide the vbios if anyone want it ! well since i have attached my internal display i am noticing strange behavior of gpu clocks ! on battery they dont go up more than 300 core clock and 400 memory clock even if i turn on a game ! i have edited the power management profiles but not luck ! and whenever i connect the charger with the laptop the gpu clocks go to 405 core clock and 1000 memory clock and when i turn on the game it goes to 700/1000 and i can play nicely ! dont know what the issue with the battery mode !Kevin@GenTechPC likes this.

Cool, glad you got it working. When installing a new GPU display issues can easily be firmware related.
-
yeah i got to know that when i searched alot about dell's 5870m ! well atleast i want the hdmi port to work properly :/ dont know how to do that
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
That's a lot trickier due to the murky world of HDCP.
-
trickier but not impossible i guess
i wanted to know how to do that if someone has a clue or can help me with it ! i will be very thankful to him
